The Mountain View Apartment - Long Term rental property in Béziers (Occitanie), the south of France.

This completely renovated apartment has beautiful views of the mountains, which is why we called it Mountain View Apartment.  It is located very close to the Béziers Cathedral.  Situated on the second floor, all the rooms are very quiet and light.  The entire apartment has been completely renovated and has all new appliances.  All windows have double-paned glass and all walls have been insulated.  Electricity and plumbing have all been redone as well by professionals.  This rental apartment comes with high-speed internet and cable TV with about 800 channels including BBC News, CNN News, and National Geographic.  There are Westinghouse ceiling fans in each room which are ultra-quiet and are remote controlled.  The bookcase came with us from Alabama and has a large collection of books mostly in English.  The apartment sleeps two people in its current setup.

The Area - Béziers (Occitanie) Rental Apartment in the south of France

This area is very popular with tourists and therefore has many restaurants to choose from.  A new 4-star hotel (open in 2023) in front of the Cathedral has made this area even more attractive as the city has invested considerably in this area.  For example, there now is a new walkway with elevators that starts at the cathedral and leads all the way to the Orb River and the Nine Locks on the Canal Du Midi.  The new hotel also features a top-rated restaurant.

Place des Bon Amis is just 45 meters from your front door and has restaurants that are open all year.  From Place des Bon Amis you can take Rue Viennet and end up at the Place du Forum, which is about 170 meters away.  The Place du Forum is home to the tourist office and the town hall.  It has several restaurants as well.

The middle room is the living room.  It has cable TV and internet connections.  The window is double-paned glass and overlooks the private garden and the mountains.  There is a large closet with sliding doors.  The room is also equipped with a remote controlled Westinghouse ceiling fan.

The kitchen room can be made into either a kitchen/dining room, a kitchen/living room, or a kitchen/dining/office room.  Personally, I think the latter option is the best.  One can do their office work while someone else watches TV in the other room.  All windows have double-paned glass.  There are two internet outlets in this room, as well as a cable TV outlet.  The top of the cathedral can be viewed from two of the three windows.  The kitchen has all new appliances including:  microwave, dishwasher, stove, stove-top, and frige/freezer combo.  The sink is new as well and is extra large.  An kitchen island has been constructed in 2022 to make the kitchen more practical.  A VMC ventilation system is in the kitchen as well.  There is yet another Westinghouse ceiling fan in this room, also remote controlled.

The Bedroom - Béziers (Occitanie) Rental Apartment in the south of France

The bedroom is very large and is located in the back of the apartment.  The window has double paned glass.  The view from here is very nice, as one can see the mountains in the distance.  The bedroom is complemented by a large walk-in closet.  A Westinghouse ceiling fan provides cooling in the summer.  The bed measures 160cm x 200cm, which is similar to the American Queen size.  There are internet and TV outlets in this room as well.

The Bathroom - Béziers (Occitanie) Rental Apartment in the south of France

The bathroom is located in the middle of the apartment and features a large lay-down tub.  A closet has been constructed here in 2022 to allow for more storage.  The washing machine is new and made by Samsung.  There is a towel rack as well that has a timer that you can set so that is starts at a certain time each morning if you wish.  The ventilation is provided by a VMC system in the ceiling.  The toilet is located in the hall and is suspended, making it easier to clean the floor.  The toilet is ventilated by yet another VMC system in the ceiling.

The Hallway - Béziers (Occitanie) Rental Apartment in the south of France

The entry to the building is very spacious and light.  Each apartment is equipped with its own doorbell and an intercom system.  The intercom system allows you to speak to the person at the front door and to remotely open the front door.   Of course you can also just look down out of the kitchen window to see who is there, but oh well...technology.  Each apartment in the building has its own water meter as well.
